Gather all your ingredients. Put the flour, confectioner's sugar, and salt in a bowl and stir. Chop the butter into cubes and crack the egg (to cool the egg.). Add the butter to the dry ingredients. Use a pastry cutter. If you don't have a pastry cutter you can use two knives. Add the egg and the vanilla. Mix well. Cover and let sit in the fridge for at least 1 hour. This recipe does not contain cornstarch. Gather all you ingredients. pour the milk and vanilla in a pot on medium-high heat. Remove from heat right before a boil. Set aside. Add the egg yokes and sugar in a bowl and mix together. Add the flour and mix well. Then add the milk. Add the milk mixture back to the stove. Use a spoon to mix.
